Bangladeshi company Greenhouse Mariculture successfully bred Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer) for the first time in the country. The initiative has received partial research support from the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project managed by the Department of Fisheries (DoF) from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Bangladesh, and funded by the World Bank.

Greenhouse Mariculture is interested in commercial piloting and providing training to marginal farmers in various technical aspects including nursery management, mariculture management, and preparation of quality feed with partners' support.
