Water treatment and disinfection systems expert, BIO-UV Group, marks its 25th anniversary this year, celebrating a quarter-century of innovation and growth.

Founded in 2000 and now headed by CEO Laurent-Emmanuel Migeon, the group has firmly established itself as a pioneer in advanced water treatment solutions using ultraviolet (UV) light, ozone, salt electrolysis, and advanced oxidation processes (AOP).

With a revenue of EUR 39.6 million reported in 2024, more than half of which was generated internationally, France-headquartered BIO-UV Group operates in over 70 countries and employs more than 160 people.

“BIO-UV Group’s 25 years stand as a testament to our dedication and know-how in water treatment,” said Laurent-Emmanuel Migeon, CEO of BIO-UV Group. “We have evolved, innovated, and expanded internationally to become a reference point across the industry. We are ready to meet tomorrow’s challenges and support our clients with sustainable and efficient water management solutions.”

Since its inception, the company has maintained steady growth, bolstered by a successful acquisition strategy. Going public on Euronext Growth in 2018 enabled the company to raise EUR 10 million initially, followed by two additional capital increases in 2020 and 2025.

Strategic acquisitions have further expanded its technological portfolio and global presence, including the 2019 purchase of triogen®, a Suez subsidiary specialising in ozone and UV solutions, and the 2021 acquisition of Corelec, a French leader in saltwater chlorination.

BIO-UV Group’s operations are organized into three key divisions: Product Sales, Solution Sales, and Services & Aftermarket. This structure enables the group to serve a broad customer base, from residential and commercial pools to municipal and industrial water treatment systems, aquaculture, and ballast water management.

Innovation has always been the core focus for the group, with developments including the approval by the French Ministry of Health for dechloramination in public pools in 2004; becoming the first and only French manufacturer certified by the International Maritime Organization for ballast water treatment in 2013; and the rapid development of BIO-SCAN, a UV-C surface treatment system, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Recent launches such as the O’CLEAR® residential pool solution, the PPO3 ozone generator, and the modular CUBIQ system for wastewater reuse reflect BIO-UV Group’s commitment to delivering state-of-the-art, sustainable water treatment technologies.

BIO-UV Group designs and manufactures its solutions in France and Scotland, working from facilities in Lunel, Muret, and Glasgow. A EUR 2.2 million expansion at its Lunel headquarters in 2023 enhanced production capacity and reinforced its position as an innovation hub.

The group also prioritizes corporate social responsibility, earning ISO 26000 certification in 2024. It aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 5% each year through initiatives such as solar panel installations, sustainable mobility programs, partnerships with disability-friendly organisations, and biodiversity projects.

Looking to the future, BIO-UV Group is building on key strategic partnerships, including an exclusive agreement with Pinnacle Ozone Solutions to open new markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, and a partnership with Innovasea to drive growth in North America’s aquaculture sector.

“As we celebrate this milestone, I am deeply grateful to our dedicated employees, partners, and customers who have made our success possible. Looking forward, we are determined to continue innovating, expanding, and leading the way in sustainable water treatment solutions that address the world’s most pressing water challenges,” Migeon said.
