Microbiome analysis company Luminis unveiled the Luminis mobile app, an addition to its AquaGENius service line. The launch of the app takes aquaculture health management to the ‘Next Gen’ level by delivering rapid insights directly to users' mobile devices worldwide.

Designed with user-friendliness, the app empowers aquaculture professionals, regardless of their technical expertise, to access valuable and easy-to-understand insights seamlessly. By providing real-time data on six key areas of the aquatic microbiome, the app provides insights that enable users to make informed decisions that help better manage productivity, disease, and risk.

The Luminis App reports on six critically important areas of health and risk: all pathogens, toxic blue-green algae, beneficial bacteria, nitrogen cycling, biodiversity, and microbiome imbalances, known as dysbiosis.

Luminis’ cutting-edge solutions are centered around harnessing the power of the microbiome – the intricate ecosystem of microorganisms – to drive positive outcomes in aquaculture. By leveraging next-generation sequencing technology, Luminis provides clients with actionable insights that empower and drive informed decisions.

"Our mission is to provide aquaculture businesses with the insights they need to optimize their operations and best manage risk,” said Rachelle Jensen, founder and CEO of Luminis Water Technologies. “Through our new AquaGENius mobile app and lower price points, we are paving the way for true precision farming that is accessible to all.”

Luminis’ commitment to innovation extends to the development of quick and easy microbiome sample collection kits, which enable anyone to collect microbiome samples anywhere in the world and send them to Luminis for Next Gen Sequencing.
