Tasmania plans the world’s first rock lobster hatchery
The proposed construction of the world’s first commercial rock lobster hatchery at the IMAS research laboratory in Taroona aims to put Tasmania at the cutting edge of aquaculture. The project, if approved, will enable tropical rock lobster production on a commercial scale after almost 20 years of research.

StofnFiskur renews authorization to export salmon ova to Chile
Benchmark Genetics’ StofnFiskur has renewed its authorization to export salmon ova to Chile. The approval covers the four salmon production sites in Iceland. StofnFiskur was the first breeding company in the world with this approval and is currently the only foreign company authorized to export Atlantic salmon ova to Chile.
