Til-Aqua International sells its genetics to interested parties
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic logistic issues, the company is transferring its YY technology to countries for local production. Deadline for interested parties is October 1, 2020. Til-Aqua is closing down their breeding department on December 31, 2020
Genomar builds a new tilapia breeding center in Brazil
The company is building a tilapia breeding and genetics center in the state of Tocantins, Brazil that will have sufficient capacity to manage the company’s breeding programs as well as produce parent stock for its distribution operations.
Kona Bay supplies shrimp broodstock to India amid lockdown
The company supplied 3,600 broodstock to Saptagiri Group of Hatcheries from a total of 14,300 supplied to India during June.
$10 million Cold Lake Fish Hatchery refurbishment for a new RAS system
The construction of a new recirculating aquaculture system and upgrades to key operating and mechanical systems allow the reuse of water during operations, which will significantly reduce utility costs and water use.

Genetics to improve salmon pigmentation
A new Norwegian project aims to improve salmon pigmentation by understanding the genes involved in the muscle pigmentation that will allow breeding a salmon that will absorb color more efficiently.
Study finds slow production of salmon smolt in hatcheries improves fish heart health
A new study from NMBU Veterinary College and the University of Oslo suggests that a slightly longer production time in the freshwater phase leads to faster growth and fresher fish later in the sea.
