Taiwan reports decapod iridescent virus

More than ten shrimp and crayfish hatcheries across Taiwan have reported cases of Decapod iridescent virus 1 (DIV1) that is currently hitting shrimp production in the Guangdong province in China. The Council of Agriculture of Taiwan (COA) said that thousands of crustaceans are being culled.

New research shows Atlantic salmon post-smolt skin that has become acclimatized to saltwater is more resistant to tenacibaculosis than the skin of post-smolt that has been raised in freshwater before being transferred to the sea.

 

BioMar scales up RAS and fry feed production in Denmark
BioMar's new production line in Brande, Denmark, is now fully operational. The line is dedicated to RAS and fry aquaculture feed production and is the result of a DKK 100 million investment that has enabled BioMar to increase the annual capacity of the Danish facility by 25%.
