Haida Group invested CNY800 million ($123 million) to build a fish, shrimp, shellfish and algae aquatic seed industry park in Jieshi Town, Lufeng City, under the jurisdiction of Shanwei city, China. In the groundbreaking ceremony, the company announced that the project includes pomfret, shellfish, algae and sea urchin breeding and seedling. When all projects are completed and put into production, it is estimated that the annual output value will be CNY1.2 billion ($185 million).

The company said that this project is the latest achievement on the group’s development of the entire aquaculture industry chain and is of great significance to the development of the group's seedling industry.

In the past few years, Haida Group has continuously accelerated the pace of construction of breeding centers and has formed a two-wing industrial development pattern integrating feed, seedlings and animal protection. Since entering the seedlings’ field in 2003, the group formed two brands, Haixingnong (seawater seedlings) and Bairong (freshwater seedlings). In 2020, Haida Group's seedling segment achieved revenues of CNY586 million ($90.6 million), a year-on-year increase of 66%.
