Charoen Pokphand Foods PLC (CPF) released “CP Pacific”, a new premium, environmentally-friendly shrimp brand for the Thai market. Sujint Thammasart, COO of CPF Aquaculture Business, said that the company is committed to promoting the shrimp production based on sustainability.

“The COVID-19 intensified global competition and consumers pay more attention to healthy products and food safety and buy from manufacturers who care about the whole production process and maintain environmental balance. CP Pacific shrimp meet all consumer needs,” said Sujint.

The new premium shrimp are produced in shrimp RAS farms that promote the use of raw materials for feeds that can be verified at the source, follow international standards, raise fast-growing, and disease-resistant shrimp, without releasing residues. The new brand follows the “3 clean principles” consisting of disease-free PLs, sterile water from RAS systems and better pond management.

According to CPF, the 2020 Thai shrimp production will be close to 280,000 tons while global production will be three million tons. “CPF improved its production this year due to better disease management,” concluded Sujint.
